Week 10 Picks!

Happy Friday football fans and welcome to the weekend! It’s time for another weekend of college football and that means another round of VFTWC picks! After having our worst week ever in week eight, week nine was much better for us. Last week VFTWC had a record of42-7, bringing out overall record to 292-110. A great week always helps the confidence, something Ole Miss doesn’t know about after last week. But now it’s on to the picks!

FRIDAY

Cincinnati over Tulane: Tonight is dedicated to the AAC, which isn’t always that exciting. Cincy shouldn’t have much of an issue with Tulane standing in their way

Memphis over Tulsa: Tulsa is a good team with bad results. I think tonight will be close, but Memphis will pull away late.

SATURDAY

Air Force over Army: Toss up game here. Even though Air Force is a better team than Army, it’s always tough to travel across the country and play well, not to mention this game is a huge game for both programs. No matter who wins we should keep in the back of our minds what these kids will be doing for our country in a few short years.

23 East Carolina over Temple: East Carolina struggled last week vs. UCONN, but I don’t see it happening this weekend. The odds makers say ECU is only seven-point favorites, but I think that’s not giving ECU enough respect. Expect a close game until the forth quarter.

Iowa over Northwestern: Which is a more confusing division? Big Ten West or SEC East?

Penn State over Maryland: Penn State should bounce back after a tough loss last weekend. You always hate to lose on a walk off sack, don’t ya?

Wisconsin over Rutgers: Wisconsin walked all over Maryland last weekend, and Rutgers got ran all over by Nebraska. Easy pick here.

Rice over FIU: Nothing screams sleeper game like a Conference USA, noon showdown.

UCF over Connecticut: After a shockingly good week from UCONN last week I think they have to be taken more seriously, but they’re still UCONN. Knights will roll.

24 Duke over Pittsburgh: Pitt may be the unranked team in this matchup, but they’re the favorite. Clearly the Vegas people know something I don’t, or do they not know something I know? Duke by 10.

18 Oklahoma over Iowa State: Oklahoma hasn’t played since their dreadful game vs. Kanas State. At least the Sooners come back to an easy foe.

Texas A&M over UL Monroe: So no more Kenny Trill? I could have see this one coming a few weeks ago

Miami (FL) over North Carolina: Duke Johnson prove last weekend that he is a man with his performance over Virginia Tech. Look for him to keep it going this weekend vs. the Tar Heels.

Boston College over Virginia Tech: Ohio State’s loss vs. Virginia Tech keeps looking worse and worse…

Central Michigan over Eastern Michigan: The poor-man’s version of the battle of Michigan. As long as Central Michigan doesn’t do anything stupid coming on the field, they should blow by Eastern Michigan.

Washington over Colorado: I had Washington beating Arizona State last weekend, but that didn’t work out. Colorado on the other hand never deserves to be an upset pick. Washington by 13.

Western Michigan over Miami (OH): And now it’s the poor-man’s version of the Ohio vs. Michigan state battle. I don’t think this one will be very close.

Louisiana Tech over Western Kentucky: This is a game you should stay away from. Read: sleeper.

7 TCU over 20 West Virginia: Looking forward to watching this one tomorrow afternoon. Should be one of the more exciting games of the day. I think TCU’s defense will be too much for the West Virginia offense in the forth quarter.

Georgia Tech over Virginia: Who cares about the ACC anymore? Hasn’t Florida State won the conference already?

BYU over Middle Tennessee: I wish Taysom Hill could have stayed healthy so we could have had to debate: Best non-power-5-conference team, BYU, ECU, or Marshall?

15 Nebraska over Purdue: #FearAmeer. Fear him a lot Purdue

Michigan over Indiana: Michigan’s AD may be gone, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be a good team off the sudden. If it was Brady Hoke resigning it may be a different story…. Wolverines by 6.

11 Georgia over Florida: I actually do think Florida will keep it close for a while, but then they’ll do something to shoot themselves in the foot. Who will be fired first? Muschamp or Hoke?

Syracuse over NC State: Syracuse has played some great teams this year very tough (i.e. Notre Dame, Florida State, and Clemson), but now they should roll against a less than great team.

Appalachian State over Georgia State: Georgia State will continue to lose, so nothing to see here.

Texas State over New Mexico State: In an alternate universe Texas State is winning the Orange Bowl, oh wait. That’s my XBOX game so that would never happen.

Kentucky over Missouri: I think this is one of the more fun games of the weekend. The Wildcats hit a brick wall last weekend, but at least they’re ranked number 1 somewhere in the world.

Houston over South Florida: WOOOOO AAC! AAC! AAC! oh wait that’s not the conference where there is bias.

13 Baylor over Kansas: Start digging the grave for Kansas because after this game, they’ll need it.

USC over Washington State: USC killed me last weekend as they took a win away from me at the last second, but this weekend they should roll. Washington State will pose threats, but the SC defense will hold firm.

Arkansas State over Idaho: How a team from Arkansas and a team from Idaho are in the same conference beats me.

South Alabama over LA-Lafayette: South Alabama is a better team then one would think by looking at their name!

UNLV over New Mexico: A great matchup between a 1-3 team in the MW conference and an 0-3 team in the MW conference. Almost like a Florida vs. Arkansas SEC game!

3 Auburn over 4 Ole Miss: It’s hard to pick against Auburn after seeing what Ole Miss did last weekend. Even though they struggled last weekend, I think this will be an extremely close, hard fought game. But the Tigers are too much for the Land Shark defense/

Colorado State over San Jose State: Colorado State keeps on winning quietly, now at 7-1 going in to tomorrow’s game. Yet no one is talking about them at all. Show some love people!

Florida Atlantic over UAB: I literally have nothing interesting to say about this game at all other than I saw UAB play once at Ohio State. Good times.

Vanderbilt over Old Dominion: Old Dominion could easily beat Vandy I think. But I couldn’t bring myself to pick Old Dominion against an SEC team, even though they are barley an SEC team.

1 Mississippi State over Arkansas: Arkasas will get an SEC win by the end of the year, but it won’t be this one. I don’t know what the status of Dak is, but it won’t matter.

South Carolina over Tennessee: The Old Ball Coach threw everything, including the kitchen sink, at Auburn last week and it still wasn’t enough. This week he won’t need to do that and he’ll get the win with ease.

5 Oregon over Stanford: It is amazing to think that Marcus Mariota has yet to beat Stanford in his career, but that will end tomorrow, as Oregon is a much better team than Stanford. And if the Ducks needed any more motivation, they’ve at 5 in the College Football Playoff Rankings, one spot away from the playoff.

Texas over Texas Tech: I kinda hope Texas wins this game just for Charlie Strong’s sanity.

9 Kansas State over Oklahoma State: Oklahoma State has the ability to beat Kansas State, but I think Bill Snyder’s team will stay focused at home and take care of business.

UTEP over Southern Miss: Yeah, moving on.

10 Notre Dame over Navy: Notre Dame has to travel to Washington D.C. to take on a solid Navy team, but Notre Dame should take care of business. Don’t think Notre Dame will lose this week, but with their remaining schedule I’m not sure about the rest of the season.

16 Ohio State over Illinois: The Buckeyes will come out pissed off after barley squeaking by Penn State last weekend and after seeing their ranking this past week.

Oregon State over California: #Pac12Madness Let’s get this hashtag trending tomorrow night.

12 Arizona over 22 UCLA: Another great game this weekend. UCLA has been incredibly disappointing so far this year and it will continue tomorrow.

Nevada over San Diego State: Yawn, example 1.

Fresno State over Wyoming: Yawn, example 2. (Bulldogs will roll easily)

Utah State over Hawaii: Yawn, example 3.

14 Arizona State over 17 Utah: Late night Pac-12 games are guaranteed craziness. This game won’t be any different!
